Carbon Fiber Russia

Since the collapse of the former Soviet Union,

Viscose

The R & D of basic carbon fiber is mainly attributable to Belarus, so Russia's carbon fiber research is mainly focused on PAN based carbon fibers.

The research directions include the following aspects.

(1) improvement of carbon fiber manufacturing process.

The Russian "carbon chemical fiber" scientific research center improved the pan spinning process, introduced dry wet process into silk, the density of the middle line was 165~500 tex, and the speed was 90m/min. When the centrifuge was collecting silk, it doubled the draft. At this time, the filament twist was 60~80 twist /m, the two drafting filament twist decreased to 10~15 twist /m, and then the silk and 10 wires became a strand.

Continuous processing of the tow, in Russia produced by the drafting machine at 30m/min speed drafting, plasticizing drafting 4~5 times, and then washing, softening, drying, hot drafting, winding.

This method has a fast spinning speed. A strand of silk contains 10 wires, which is equivalent to 10 times the productivity of the filament.

In addition, the production process of 1 K carbon fiber was improved, and the processing of group silk oxidation and carbonization heat was applied. The 10 wires were integrated into 1 groups, each thread was 10 twisted /m, and then processed into separate silk. This is equivalent to processing 10 K yarn in production, so that the cost of 1 K wire is not much higher than that of other brands.

(2) research on carbon fiber composites.

In Russia

Production of carbon fiber

A high cost is required, such as a carbon fiber bar with a strength of 100~120 N/mm2, and a production cost of more than 10 thousand rubles per kilogram. Russia is committed to developing carbon fiber and basalt fiber filament, carbon fiber and glass fiber composite materials, with the aim of reducing costs.

The Russian University of salad has studied the addition of basalt fibers ranging from 10% to 40% in carbon fiber composites, and basalt fibers have been impregnated with phenolic resin. This can enhance the physical and chemical adhesion between carbon fibers and basalt fibers. After making composite materials, the performance is close to that of pure carbon fiber composites, but the price is relatively low.

(3) 3D braided coating of carbon fibers

Material Science

The Moscow national design and Technology University and the National Aeronautical Technology Research Institute have developed three dimensional knitted fabrics of carbon fiber (or carbon fiber and glass fiber) for coating or manufacturing aviation industry parts, in order to replace some precious metals with carbon fiber, improve the performance of parts, lighten the weight of aircraft and save energy consumption.

These include: aircraft window frame reinforced coating materials, aircraft engine exhaust blades, seamless aircraft fuselage (model) coating materials, etc., which are woven in accordance with the wrapped three-dimensional shape, and the fabric has a certain degree of curvature. After coating, the parts and materials are well bonded without wrinkles.
